Hamann Releases Exhaust System for BMW F86 X6 M

So you thought the 2016 BMW X6 M sounds great, huh? While we’re not here to disagree, we’re just going to show you the exhaust system Hamann just released for the exact same car. Let’s just say it’s not for the faint of heart.

The German tuner just published a video on its Youtube channel, showcasing exactly how its new exhaust system for the F86 X6 M sounds like and we have to admit we’re quite impressed. The stock version is already pretty good, especially when compared to other cars that use the same S63 engine under the hood.

We’re referring to the F10 M5 most of all, as that’s the one model that does sound the most disappointing compared to the rest of the cars that use the same 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8. And while we know that the new X5 M and X6 M have a slightly revamped version of the S63 powering them, with the displacement and engine architecture remaining the same, the sound will be similar unless you’re doing something to the exhaust.

And that’s exactly what both the engineers over at BMW and Hamann did. While the former made sure that the cars are usable on a daily basis and you don’t wake your neighbors every morning when you leave for work, the latter had no such worries. All they were aiming for was more volume and an even better note if possible.

That’s probably how this exhaust came to be, the sound the X6 M in the video below is making being, as we already said, impressive, especially when the car is shifting gears. The only problem is, this thing will come with a hefty price tag.

Furthermore, if you want your car to sound exactly the same, you’ll have to buy the entire exhaust system from Hamann, made up of the downpipes, cats and rear muffler the whole shebang not coming cheap.
